How to Manage Up 10x Better
Where to Invest $100,000 Right Now, According to Experts
Investors face a dilemma. When the S&P 500 finished its worst quarter since 2022 last month, diversifiers like bonds and bitcoin fell too.
Even with the turnaround in mid-April, analysts at Goldman Sachs and Vanguard have projected low-single-digit annualized returns from 2024-2034.
Bloomberg asked where experts would personally invest $100,000 for their March monthly edition.
One answer that surfaced for a second time? Art.
It's what billionaires like Bezos and the Rockefellers have privately used to diversify for decades.
Why?
Appreciation. The ArtPrice100 Index outpaced the S&P 500 overall from 2000 to 2025
Low-correlation. The postwar contemporary segment has moved independently of traditional investments like stocks since ‘95.*
Resilience. A scarce, physical, and global asset class with decades of demonstrated demand.
Thanks to the world's premier art investing platform, now anyone can invest in works featuring legends like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso, without needing millions.

Knowing how to manage up is one skill that is going to keep giving for the rest of your career.
I once heard a leader say that she thought it becomes less important once you are an executive. Um… No.
The higher you go, the more important it becomes and the bar gets significantly higher.
Exceptional leaders are world-class at managing up, down, and across. They can influence tough stakeholders, navigate complexity, and build real trust with their team.
Here is how you can manage up to your executive leader 10x better.
1. Get over your fear of managing up.
While you may not think you have a fear of managing up, something inside you is holding you back from managing up effectively. You stay quiet when you have something to say, you avoid pushing back, or you often rely on your manager to make the tough calls. These self-inflicted psychological limits are impacting your performance and influence.
Strong leaders bring recommendations, raise concerns early, and share their perspective in a non-threatening way.
This starts with changing your mindset around hierarchy, which has been ingrained in your brain for decades, and you're likely still operating from an outdated model of leadership.
2. Study your manager like it's your job.
Every executive operates differently. Some move fast and ask questions later. Others want every risk mapped out before they'll move an inch. Some want data to back the data. You get the point.
The fastest way to figure out which one you're dealing with is to study their behaviours.
What gets a positive reaction? What visibly frustrates them? How do they like to receive updates? Managing up 10x better starts with pattern recognition. The more data you collect, the better you get at it.
"How can I best support you with your mandates and goals?" is one of the most under-utilized questions in corporate leadership. Most people never ask it.
For context, only one person who reported into me asked me this question in my entire career.
3. Get obsessively aligned on priorities.
This is job number one. Do this, and everything else gets easier.
Your manager should be communicating their priorities to you often, but they may not. Leading large teams is a different beast entirely. The complexity, the noise, the number of things competing for their attention is never ending.
So, you must stay synced and aligned on priorities every single week by bringing it up in your 1:1s.
This also helps you filter your own projects. Not everything your team is working on is actually a priority that matters to them or to the business.
